Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi emphasized that the two-state solution is “the only way out” of the Israeli war on Gaza, in a phone call with Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Thursday, according to a statement by the Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.

Both leaders stressed the importance of preventing conflict escalation, given its potential regional consequences.

They also concurred on the urgency to prioritize the humanitarian conditions in Gaza, as expressed in Fahmy’s statement.

El-Sisi further highlighted the imperative need to cease all military actions targeting civilians in Gaza.

He assured Frederiksen that Egypt remains committed to coordinating regional and international efforts to deliver immediate humanitarian and relief aid, ensuring it reaches Gaza to spare the Palestinians further suffering.

Frederiksen expressed great appreciation for Egypt’s relentless efforts, notably the recent Cairo Peace Summit last Saturday, which brought together representatives from 31 countries.

Egypt has consistently affirmed its opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians from their homeland.

Furthermore, El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed that the expulsion of the Palestinians is not a solution in a joint press conference between both leaders in Cairo on Wednesday.

“[if] The two-state solution has not been realised when the Palestinians stay [on their land], it is impossible it would succeed when they are not,” El-Sisi added.

Israel’s 20-day war on Gaza has killed 7,028, including 2,913 children and 1,709 women, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Intensive preparations are being made to deliver the sixth aid convoy into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing, according to Al-Qahera News channel on Thursday.

The total number of trucks delivered to Gaza currently stands at 74, falling short of the daily requirement estimated by the UN, which is 100 trucks.
