Danish development company Obton has secured rights to build its first solar farm in Sweden.
The project will be built southwest of Stockholm and will have a production capacity of 15MWp.
According to Senior Business Development Manager Kenneth Kolvits, who is responsible for Obton’s entry into the Swedish market, the project will reach the “ready-to-build” stage in June 2024, and the solar park is then expected to be operational at the end of 2025.
“We have entered into a cooperation agreement with our Swedish partner, and this first project has shown that we work very well together. We contribute with our strengths in the evaluation of solar energy projects, financing as well as construction and operation, while our Swedish partner contributes with extensive local knowledge as well as effective management and progress within project development,” said Kolvits.
“We are already analysing several solar and battery storage projects in Sweden. In terms of the great experience that our Swedish partner has both from Sweden and a number of other countries worldwide, we are really strong in relation to realizing our ambitions in Sweden,” he added.
