On 28 April 2023, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/8871 concerning restrictive measures against Myanmar/Burma.

The Council Decision extends the restrictive measures until 30 April 2024 and in respect of one person and one entity until 29 October 2023. The Decision also updates the listing of certain persons and entities subject to restrictive measures as set out in the Annex to Decision 2013/184 /CFSP.

The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina2, the potential candidate country Georgia, as well as the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it
