Finland has announced plans to send military equipment to the Ukrainian military, taking part in exercises within the framework of the European Union Military Assistance Mission Ukraine (EUMAM-Ukraine).

That’s according to the Ministry of Defense of Finland, citing Yle, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that the country’s President Sauli Niinistö approved the deployment on Friday. This is the 15th batch of Finnish military aid to Ukraine.

“Ukraine needs various types of support. We’re participating in the EU’s training mission by training Ukrainian soldiers, along with necessary material assistance,” said Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen.

The ministry clarified that the decision on the aid package took into account the needs of both Ukraine and the resource situation of the Finnish Defense Forces.

The ministry said that it would not disclose information about the content of the aid, the method of delivery or the timing of arrival for security reasons.

As reported, the total cost of Finnish defense aid packages to Ukraine reached about 990 million euros.
