The head of Wagner’s mercenary army , Yevgeny Prigozhin , warned Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu of an imminent Ukrainian attack .
In a letter made public on Monday, he stressed that the Ukrainian military was planning an offensive aimed at cutting off Wagner’s forces from the main body of Russian troops in eastern Ukraine.
In the letter published by the Wagner group itself, Prigozhin notes that the attack is planned for late March or early April .
He asked Shoigu to take all measures to prevent this, which he said could lead to ” negative consequences ” for Russia’s military effort in Ukraine.
Prigozhin noted that 70% of the city of Bakhmut is under the control of his forces.
