Russia would be preparing for the offensive. At least, that’s what Kiev’s armed forces think, reporting the concentration of men and warships near areas controlled by Ukraine where a general air alert went off on Friday, around 12.50. The sirens stopped blasting after about half an hour.
Ten thousand Moscow soldiers are concentrated in Russian territory on the border of Sumy in northeastern Ukraine, officer Andrii Gulakov told the Times. He added that the Russians have built a field hospital in their headquarters and this indicates the fact that they are planning offensive actions. The region, which was overrun by Moscow’s men at the start of the offensive without being able to capture the main city 30 kilometers from the border, was retaken entirely by the Kiev army on April 4 when the Russian army withdrew from the whole Oblast. The formations stationed along the border have been reporting high intensity bombings since the beginning of January.
The press office of the Naval Forces of Ukraine reported on Friday that the Russian navy had increased the number of warships deployed in the Black Sea from seven to eleven, three of which are carrying Kalibr cruise missiles. Another Federation combat vessel is in the Sea of Azov.
